If you get into a fender bender or accidentally scratch and bump your car, it may need to be painted. Finding the right paint color can be difficult, but there are a few ways to do it.

Look It Up

The easier way to match your paint is it look up the specific paint number or color online and find the matching product. (see Match VIN sticker below)

Ask A Dealer

Dealers often know the name of a specific car paint or can look it up for you. Ask a dealer to help you match your car’s paint color. They may even be able to order the paint as well.

Match it to the VIN sticker

Find the VIN sticker for your vehicle. Look up the VIN sticker for your type of vehicle online and you can often find out first where it is on your particular vehicle. (vehicle manufacturers are sneaky putting it inside the door jam, in the glove compartment, or even the trunk sometimes.) and second, you can often find photos in google images of your cars type of VIN sticker with the paint code location circled.

The photo below is an example but all car manufacturers have their codes dona a bit differently. Good luck!
